The Girls Who Code Teen Science Café, part of the LeveLUP Leadership Academy, is helping middle school girls in Lakewood explore the exciting world of technology, coding, and innovation.
The LeveLUP initiative is a collaborative youth development effort led by From Me 2 U, Inc. in partnership with B&B Class, LLC, and supported through Starting Point’s Out-of-School Time (OST) funding initiative. Together, these organizations are expanding access to hands-on learning opportunities that help young people build confidence, leadership skills, and future career pathways.
In the Girls Who Code Teen Science Café, middle school girls participate in interactive labs where they learn:
Coding and basic programming
Web design and digital storytelling
Creative problem solving through real-world challenges
Collaboration and teamwork in STEM environments
Participants also connect with mentors and explore careers in technology and innovation. These experiences help girls see themselves as future engineers, designers, and problem-solvers.
By blending STREAM education with leadership development, the program creates a space where curiosity and confidence grow together.
Families interested in participating are encouraged to visit the From Me 2 U, Inc. website to learn about program locations and weekly session times for the Lakewood LeveLUP initiative.
