Summer Fellowship
The From Me 2 U Community Impact Fellowship is a 10-week, full-time summer opportunity for students passionate about advocacy, research, and driving positive change in Greater Cleveland. Fellows collaborate with our Equity & Community Impact team to explore root causes of social challenges, conduct community needs assessments, and develop actionable recommendations that advance From Me 2 U’s mission.
Key Responsibilities

Community Needs Assessment: Design and carry out assessments—collecting data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups to understand local priorities in youth development, mental health, and family support.

Resource Mapping: Identify and map existing programs and services, pinpointing gaps to guide our strategic planning.

Policy & Practice Research: Investigate policies and best practices at local and state levels that impact early childhood mental health, workforce readiness, and family empowerment.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with participants, partner organizations, and community leaders to gather insights and build partnerships.

Advocacy Project: Synthesize your findings into a final report with clear, actionable recommendations for program and policy improvements.

Community Presentations: Co-lead two workshops or webinars to share your research and foster community-driven solutions.
Qualifications

Current undergraduate or graduate student with a demonstrated commitment to community service and social justice.

Strong research, writing, and data-collection skills; experience with needs assessments or program evaluation is a plus.

Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging diverse community stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks under a deadline.

Familiarity with nonprofit operations, policy analysis, or community organizing preferred.

Skill-Building Workshops: Participate in weekly cohort workshops on topics such as grant writing, data collection, leadership, and ethical practice.
